Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Ah...."

The ear-piercing shriek, like a razor against Ye Zi's eardrums, she was enduring the extreme pain from being gripped by He Huan while she was shouting, "What on earth has happened? Can we still fly home?"

The pilot was frantically manipulating the dashboard. In the howling wind, only a few fragmented words floated into Ye Zi's ears, "No, this thing is utterly broken!"

If looks could kill, Ye Zi's gaze would certainly slice the pilot into a thousand pieces.

Just moments ago, they were sitting leisurely inside the helicopter, thrilled by the picturesque views of the sea and sky, next to a mixed-race pilot who claimed to have Indian lineage. His awkward Chinese mixed with English was used to explain the beautiful procedures of a sea wedding.

However, now, this aircraft, which had been in service for God knows how many years, had begun to sound the alarm. The dashboard quickly started to sputter out sparks, appearing as though it was on its last leg. The so-called mixed-race pilot suddenly burst out speaking fluid local vernacular, almost giving her and He Huan a concussion.

Like right now, the guy was agilely putting a parachute pack on himself while "kindly" giving them last advice, "Run while this thing hasn't exploded yet!"

Run? They were high up in the air with nowhere to escape. Where were the two girls supposed to run to?

Seeing the pilot bail out of the cockpit, He Huan's screams grew louder. You wouldn't expect this delicate girl to be so powerful when panicked - she was more explosive than the Universe itself, even a police school graduate like Ye Zi couldn't escape her.

"Ye Zi, what should we do? Am I going to die here...."

"Shut up!" Ye Zi suppressed the urge to slap her and quickly pulled a parachute pack from under the seat.

Wasn't it because He Huan suddenly wanted to have a sea wedding that they were in this life-or-death situation?

"Put this on, hurry!" Handing the parachute pack to He Huan, Ye Zi desperately recalled her emergency training and fastened the parachute to herself.

"Ye Zi, I..." He Huan's voice drifted in the wind, carrying a whine, "I have a fear of heights...."

"Fear my foot!” Ye Zi finally lost her patience, "You have a fear of heights and you wanted a sea wedding? Jump now or I will smack you!"

At the brink of life and death, Ye Zi's brave and audacious nature was laid bare.

"I... I'm really scared..."

He Huan's heavily made-up eyes at that moment looked just like a big panda, and the tears had washed her color contacts out, hanging tremblingly on her fake lashes. If it were not for the inopportune time and place, her little appearance would have been quite amusing.

Seeing the pitiful and "hateful" state of her best friend, Ye Zi was both irritated at her for not having spirit and brusquely wrapped the parachute pack around her.

Detecting Ye Zi's savage-like movements, He Huan frantically shook her head, "Little Leaf, I... I won't jump, I wouldn't even if it costs me my life!"

"If it doesn't kill you, you have to jump for me!"

Brutally dragging over He Huan's trembling little body, Ye Zi barely had time to glance at the cockpit's dashboard, which began to emit smoke, before pulling He Huan out of the shaking cabin.

"Ah..."

A strong gust of wind came blowing over, effortlessly drowning out He Huan's screams. Ye Zi was forced to squint her eyes, looking at He Huan's opening and closing mouth, filled with wind making her look like a bloated toad.

Ye Zi didn't need to hear He Huan's noises to know she was probably cursing profusely at this very moment.

With that energy, it's better to save it for escape!

Ignoring He Huan's eyes full of fear and anger, Ye Zi looked down to estimate the distance to the sea surface and forcefully yanked open He Huan's parachute.

With a whoosh, Ye Zi felt a strong force pulling He Huan away. She looked up at the increasingly smaller parachute, ensuring that He Huan hadn't passed out from shock, then hurriedly opened her own parachute...

At that time and place, atop a sea surface, a colossal cruise ship was hosting a noble-style revelry.

In an open-air swimming pool, over twenty meters in diameter, dozens of bikini-clad women were vying to flirt with two men. The cool sea breeze was filled with a bold and wild air.

Within the rippling azure waters of Lan Yingying's pool, a man casually drew a honey-skinned beauty into his arms, casting his gaze towards the poolside.

"Yuan Shao, won't you join us?"

On a white beach chair, a tall figure was half-leaning, his long legs casually crossed. Yet the cold aura emitted from him was out of place amidst the lively poolside.

Facing his companion's invitation, he seemed as if he hadn't heard. The charming spring scene before him was as if non-existent in his eyes. The figure was akin to a flawless Greek statue, showing no response whatsoever.

The speaking man evidently was accustomed to his apathetic demeanor. With a subtle smile, he continued flirting with the beauty in his arms.

Giggling playfully and enjoying the flirtation, the honey-skinned beauty unconsciously raised her head, only to notice an abrupt presence in the vast blue sky.

"Look, what's that?"

Everyone gazed upwards, to see in the midst of the azure sky and sea, a brilliant white parachute flower gently floating down. Suspended beneath the parachute was a slim young girl. Although her face was obscured due to the angle, her slender legs peeking out from underneath her fluffy dress instantly captivated everyone's attention.
